Research has shown that when an employer allows an employee to utilize self-assessment with their job performance, this helps the employee to be more focused on their quality of work. This will also help the employee think about future growth, as well as their future with the company. It also gives the employer an opportunity to work with the employee to develop a plan for their improvement. This self-assessment model is one example that can be used by companies, schools, or by anyone who supervises and evaluates employees.
This tool will allow the leader to assist the employee with becoming better at their job. The leader and the employee will have the opportunity to work together to identify areas where the employee needs improvement.

There should also be room to add additional statements if the leadership and the employee agree it is needed. This tool should cover one year, with periodical reviews.

The employee should sit down with their supervisor and review each statement thoroughly. Leadership should be available to assist the employee and make recommendations, if necessary.

Throughout the year, leadership should meet with the employer to address the progress or lack of progress in meeting their goals.
