Alberta hotel makes list of world’s most romantic stays

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, a popular Alberta hotel has been named to a list of the most romantic hotels in the world.

The ranking was released by Enjoy Travel, which named the Fairmont Banff Springs (in Banff National Park) 14th on its list of the 50 most romantic hotels in the world.

“Found in the centre of Banff National Park (an UNESCO World Heritage Site) in Alberta, Canada, the Fairmont Banff Springs is one of the most iconic and romantic hotels in the world,” shared the list.

According to Enjoy Travel, Banff has a charm where it doesn’t matter which time of year you choose to visit.

“Whether you’re there for the hiking trails in the summer or snowsports in the winter, the whole region is beautiful year-round. The hotel is also home to a huge spa, a 27-hole golf course (for the summer months), and skiing in the winter, making it the perfect place for your next romantic getaway together.”

Fairmont Banff Springs was the only Canadian hotel to make the list.

According to the U.S. News and World Report, Banff claimed the fifth spot on their top 15 list.

“Banff’s scenic, snow-covered mountain views and long ski season make it one of the best places to visit in February, especially if you love spending time outdoors,” the report shared.

It also explained that the Alberta town’s location in the Canadian Rockies within Banff National Park, Canada’s first national park, means it offers plenty of opportunities for winter hiking, snowshoeing and wildlife viewing.
