The Michelin Guide Says These Are The World’s Top Food Destinations In 2026 – Travel Noire

One of the most respected authorities on food and dining recently released a roundup of the “must-visit destinations” foodies should travel to for good eats in 2026.

In late December 2025, the Michelin Guide shared “the best places to travel in 2026 for food lovers.” Per the roundup, travelers have a wide range of destinations to consider if they want to explore different cuisines and expand their palates this year. The authority’s inspectors and “experts on the ground” aided in compiling the list of cities, countries, and regions.

The list included destinations in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and North America — with most of the name-dropped locations being in the latter. The Michelin Guide noted that the food scenes listed should be prioritized visiting now, before “reservations get harder to come by, the prices rise, and the rest of the world catches on.”

Where Exactly Are Top Food Destinations In 2026, According To The Michelin Guide?

North America had seven of the 16 total places listed, comprising over half of the destinations. For adventurers and road trip enthusiasts, the Michelin Guide recommended driving the iconic U.S. Route 66, stopping in places like Chicago, Albuquerque, and Los Angeles. Notably, the legendary highway — which spans eight states — is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.

Also in the U.S., travelers seeking the top food destinations in 2026 should traverse the American South and Florida. Throughout those places, they’ll find pockets of local flavors, seasonal cooking, “seafood-driven menus,” and cultural connections to food. In the Northeast, go for Boston, Massachusetts, or Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. And if you’re in Canada, travelers should explore the food scenes in Vancouver and Québec.

Asia similarly presents a variety of flavors and cuisines for those seeking to please and surprise their taste buds. Travelers are presented with a culinary journey that can include a wide array of dining experiences, spices, and dishes. The Michelin Guide spotlighted Cappadocia (Turkey), Jiangsu Province (China), and the Philippines.

In Europe, Italy is a major place to hit. The roundup recommended visiting three destinations in the boot-shaped country – Venice, the Dolomites, and the Amalfi Coast. Of course, foodies should expect more than just pasta. Depending on where exactly they visit and when, diners should anticipate “lagoon cuisine” from local chefs, “ambitious alpine cooking,” or seasonally inspired dishes made with “elemental” ingredients. Other destinations mentioned for foodie delights in Europe were Wrocław (Poland) and regions throughout Czechia (beyond the capital, Prague).

For the top places to eat in 2026 in the Middle East, consider exploring Riyadh and Jeddah, both in Saudi Arabia. Just note that alcoholic beverages won’t be on the menu, as the country bans consumption for both citizens and foreigners.
