Madrid, the capital of Spain, was named among top 15 emerging travel destinations this summer, according to a report by Mastercard Economics Institute.
The city ranked eighth on the list, which compared summer flight bookings for 2024 and 2025 to find the places experiencing the most growth in travelers.
Madrid is famous for its rich history, world-class art museums, vibrant nightlife, and diverse culinary scene. The city is also known for beautiful architecture, including the Royal Palace and Plaza Mayor, and for its unique blend of traditional and modern attractions.
Spain was named the world’s second most visited country last year after France, attracting an estimated record 94 million international visitors last year.
Japan’s Tokyo topped the summer destinations list, followed by Osaka and Paris.
