U.S. magazine Condé Nast Traveler has named Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, and Indonesia among the most affordable travel destinations for Americans this year.

Vietnam is highlighted as an ideal destination due to its “steadily increasing exchange rate and mind-blowing beauty,” the magazine noted.

Beyond major cities like Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang, it recommended exploring Phu Quoc and Ninh Van Bay, both known for their pristine beaches.

Cambodia was praised for its recent visa relaxation policies.

Starting Jan. 1, 2025, the country has reduced tourist visa fees from $36 to $30, making it even more budget-friendly for travelers.

Malaysia offers great value, especially for those who enjoy street food and exploring cities like Kuala Lumpur on foot.

The country is also home to affordable attractions such as pristine beaches, limestone caves, and some of the world’s most stunning tea plantations.

Indonesia remains an inexpensive vacation spot, with Condé Nast Traveler recommending peaceful alternatives to Bali, such as the islands of Sumba and Lombok.

Travelers can also indulge in local street food, including greasy noodles and nasi goreng gila (crazy spicy fried rice) from makeshift stalls at minimal cost.

The list was compiled based on factors such as current exchange rates, airfare, and hotel deals.

Other destinations on the list include Mexico, Brazil, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and Egypt.
